PATRICIA ESPINOSA is a Mexican-born, socially engaged multidisciplinary artist based in New York.<\/p>

After a successful career in the design and new media industries\u2014producing and directing award-winning projects for the Museum of Modern Art<\/strong> in New York and the United Nations<\/strong>\u2014she joined the Art Students League of New York in 2001 to pursue fine art studies. In 2011 she received the Joseph Bartnikowski Award, and by 2013 held her first solo show at Soho20 Gallery <\/strong>in Chelsea. She has since exhibited her work across the United States, Canada, Germany, and Mexico.<\/p>

Her recent installation Nunca Olvides Que Tienes Alas<\/em><\/a> (Never Forget You Have Wings)<\/strong> was featured in\u00a0The New York Times<\/a><\/strong>. Her work has also received prior press coverage from ArtNet News<\/em>, Noticiero Telemundo<\/em>, BuzzFeed<\/em>, Journal Frankfurt<\/em>, Leviat\u00e1n<\/em>, and Leonardo<\/em>.\u00a0Her first public art piece,<\/span>\u00a0The Hourglass<\/a><\/strong><\/em>\u2014commissioned by the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Art Students League of New York<\/strong>\u2014was recently on view in Riverside Park North in Manhattan and is destined for its permanent home in the Florida Keys.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Patricia is the creator of Loter\u00eda: La Suerte Que Habla <\/em>(Luck Talks)<\/strong><\/a>, a participatory game and exhibition inspired by the traditional Mexican Loter\u00eda. The project was acquired by the University of Toronto (2015) and by the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago<\/strong> (2016) for its permanent collection and was later featured in \u00a1LOTER\u00cdA! Un Mundo de Im\u00e1genes<\/em>, a commemorative publication sponsored by the Mexican Government.<\/p>

Raised in Mexico City, Patricia was shaped by the contrasts between her Mexican upbringing and her early years in Germany, where she attended a German school known for its discipline and rigor. These dual influences continue to inform her artistic practice.<\/p>
