Loter\u00eda: la suerte que habla<\/em> (Luck Talks) is a game and exhibition inspired by the traditional Mexican game of <\/span>La Loter\u00eda<\/em>. A game similar to bingo, but played with a deck of cards instead of numbers. Each card bears an image that evokes a popular Mexican event, artifact, individual, or other cultural symbol. <\/span>Loter\u00eda: La Suerte Que Habla<\/em> (Luck Talks) features entirely new images that represents my views of my native land; they celebrate and denounce the current social, political and cultural state of Mexico.\u00a0<\/span>The cards are accompanied by original\u00a0<\/span>coplas\u00a0<\/em>written by Toronto-based Mexican-Canadian writer\u00a0<\/span>Martha B\u00e1tiz<\/a>. In the traditional game, a \u201ccantador\u201d or singer would read out loud the aphorisms or riddles accompanying each card.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
